Originally from New Zealand, Our Head Chef Dan has worked at some of the best restaurants and pubs in Australia. Not to mention the world! having recently acquired the title of 77th best steak restaurant in the world, and an AGFG readers choice award during his stint as Executive Group Head chef at Butcher & Vine.


Since Dan has joined the team at the Toorak Hotel, we've received the OpenTable Diners Choice Award for 2021 and 2022 and have been awarded the badge of "exceptional" with a rating of 4.6


In case you couldn't tell. Dan's passion is steak, so make sure you book for Wednesday steak night where you can try one his black onyx mb3+ sirloins for only $30!

Highly recommend the newly upgraded Bistro / Restaurant - it's fantastic. The bar and upstairs eating areas are great, as is the private dining room. The menu is a satisfying mix of pub classics and contemporary fare and the quality of dishes is consistently good. Service is cheerful and attentive.

Changes to the restaurant, which was the old bar are fantastic. Food was brilliant. We had hanger steaks which were just scrumptious. Will be back next week!!

We go for Parma Night every Thursday, and we're never disappointed. The chicken is always juicy, with perfectly balanced topping; the chips are crispy and well-seasoned. The owners and staff have cultivated a very friendly, personal pub environment. Oh ... the burgers are great too, as is their potato mash!
